Three programmes, one clear aim
Each Kintsugi programme is structured around helping participants build a workable household budget from scratch — with worksheets, guided sessions, and support materials they keep.
Back to HomeHow our programmes are designed
Every Kintsugi programme is built around the same core methodology: introduce a concept, show how it works with a general example, then have the participant apply it using their own household figures. This sequence — concept, demonstration, application — repeats across every session and every format.
The materials are not theoretical. Worksheets are formatted for ongoing home use, not just in-session exercises. By the end of any programme, participants have a set of templates — for categorising expenses, mapping monthly cash flow, planning savings, and reviewing a budget over time — that they can continue using indefinitely.
All content is grounded in Malaysian household contexts: Ringgit-denominated examples, expense categories familiar to households in Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley, and cost benchmarks updated each quarter.
Concept → Application loop
Each topic is taught and then practised in the same session, not deferred to homework.
Reusable materials
All worksheets and templates are formatted for ongoing household use beyond the programme.
Quarterly curriculum review
Cost benchmarks and examples are updated every quarter to reflect current Malaysian conditions.
Education only
No financial product recommendations. Sessions focus entirely on budgeting concepts and skills.
Personal Budget Workshop Series
A four-session group workshop that walks participants through the fundamentals of building a household budget from a blank sheet. Sessions cover expense categorisation, monthly cash-flow mapping, savings buckets, and reviewing a budget as life changes. Suitable for individuals and couples with no prior background in personal finance. Materials, worksheet templates, and recordings are included for replay between sessions.
- 4 structured group sessions
- Expense categorisation and cash-flow mapping
- Worksheet templates provided and kept
- Session recordings included for replay
- No prior finance knowledge needed
What each session covers
- 1Foundations. What a budget is, why it matters, and how to map your current spending honestly without judgement.
- 2Categorisation. Sorting expenses into meaningful groups, identifying fixed and variable costs, and finding where the picture is unclear.
- 3Cash flow and savings. Monthly income-vs-expenditure mapping, the role of savings buckets, and how to create a budget that actually fits your household.
- 4Review and adjustment. How to revisit a budget when life changes, signals that a budget needs revision, and building a sustainable review habit.
One-to-One Budget Coaching Sessions
A six-session educational coaching package focused on helping participants build, test, and refine their personal budgeting framework. Each session is conversational — the coach explains concepts, walks through worksheets, and supports the participant in applying the framework to their own numbers. No advice on specific products is given; the focus is purely on financial literacy and budgeting habits.
- 6 private one-to-one sessions
- Built around your own household figures
- Written Q&A support between sessions
- Conversational, not directive
- Available in person or by video call
How the six sessions progress
- 1Understanding your current spending pattern — mapping income and expenses without pressure.
- 2Categorisation and prioritisation — sorting what you spend into groups that make sense for your household.
- 3Building your first complete budget — applying the framework to your own numbers with educator support.
- 4Testing the budget — reviewing the first month, identifying where figures were off, and adjusting.
- 5Savings structure — exploring how to build savings buckets within a realistic household budget.
- 6Long-term maintenance — how to review and adapt the budget over time so it remains useful.
Annual Household Money Curriculum
A twelve-month structured learning programme covering budgeting, saving routines, expense reviews, household record-keeping, and money conversations between family members. Includes monthly live group sessions, a printed workbook, quarterly check-in calls, and access to the recorded library. Designed for households who want a paced, year-long literacy track rather than a short course.
- 12 monthly live group sessions
- Printed workbook posted to participants
- Quarterly individual check-in calls
- Access to recorded session library throughout the year
- Covers household money conversations, not just personal budgets
Year-long topic arc
- Q1Foundations. Budget-building, expense categorisation, cash-flow mapping, and setting up a household tracking system.
- Q2Saving and reviewing. Building savings habits, the first quarter review, adjusting the budget based on real data.
- Q3Household records and conversations. Record-keeping practices, how to involve all household members, and navigating differing spending priorities.
- Q4Long-term patterns. Year-end review, preparing for the following year, and maintaining the habits built across the programme.

Someone who wants a structured introduction to budgeting concepts in a group setting, with worksheets to take home and recordings to revisit.
Someone who wants to work through their own household figures with a qualified educator, at their own pace, in private sessions.
A household — especially one with more than one earner or family members involved in spending — that wants a full year of structured, paced learning.
